About the Author

Before she started writing fiction, Sara Read got a degree in Women's Studies from UC Santa Cruz. She tried the nine-to-five life for about a nanosecond before moving to rural Virginia to become a flute-maker's apprentice and traditional fiddle player. Some years and two babies later, she returned to school for a Masters in Nursing. A cancer survivor herself, she now has the distinct privilege of caring for cancer patients. She is a cofounder of #momswritersclub and lives in Charlottesville with her husband, two teens, a terrier, and three snarky cats.

Reviews
Praise for Sara Read's PRINCIPLES OF EMOTION

"An incredible STEMinist read."--The Honey Pop

"Give this to readers who like seemingly light relationship fiction that packs a deceptive, satisfying emotional punch."--Booklist (STARRED review)

"Poignant and compelling...Tackling issues of mental health, self-doubt, and second chances, this romantic story about the connection between a grand theoretical thinker and a carpenter is entirely compelling. A delightfully mathematical take on the opposites-attract paradigm."--Kirkus

"Beguiling... Read's skillful character building makes Meg and Isaac's connection feel plausible as both take risks to ensure the other's safety and happiness. This well-matched couple is sure to charm."--Publishers Weekly

Praise for JOHANNA PORTER IS NOT SORRY

"Debut novelist Read has created a thoroughly sympathetic character in this witty, quick, and emotionally turbulent tale that will have readers cheering for Johanna well after the last page."--Booklist

"Laugh out loud funny and poignant, this gem of a debut novel has it all, a messy soccer mom on the run, an art heist, dubious choices, and a heartwarming love story. I loved it! Sara Read is a writer to watch."--LORI FOSTER, New York Times bestselling author

"Sara Read's prose is agile and evocative in this nuanced exploration of human imperfection, reminding us how sometimes the transformation we seek can only happen when we get out of our own way. Vivid, visceral, and sexy--I loved it."--JEN DEVON, author of Bend Toward the Sun
