Description
Look at Poojo go! This adorable dog was born without back legs, but that's OK--because Poojo's got wheels. What a good dog Poojo is! He's a great friend to everyone and everything (pigeons and scooters included). He's creative and clever (how many other dogs can pop a wheelie?). And he definitely is fast--look at him chasing that squirrel, or leading his doggie pals in a race through the park! There's no stopping this joyful pup, even when he's briefly faced with a flat tire. Poojo can do anything! Inspired by a dog in their neighborhood, debut author-illustrator Charrow spins a sweet and empowering story of a lovable, determined pup who entered the world with two legs--but with the help of some wheels accomplishes whatever he sets his mind to.Product Details

Reviews
Poojo the dog was born without back legs, but this doesn't slow him down...With sparse text, cartoonish critters, and just the right amount of peril, this readaloud is a shoo-in for storytime. A good amount of the story is told through Charrow's rambunctious, flowing digital and gouache art... Listeners are bound to want a romp with Poojo again and again.
--Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books (starred review) A dog born without hind legs must think fast when his wheelchair gets a flat tire...With straightforward brevity (most spreads have at most one sentence), the text treats Poojo's condition with matter-of-fact good humor, simultaneously acknowledging the occasional inconvenience of his disability and demonstrating coping skills. Adding to the cheerful tone, the typeface's large, well-spaced letters curl slightly at the ends, recalling Poojo's wagging corkscrew tail. This upbeat tale of an irrepressible pooch is sure to leave readers smiling.
