This story is for you.
In this emotionally vulnerable book, Marci Brockmann reveals how growing up under the strain of mental abuse was mirrored in her subsequent personal relationships. She didn't know anything different. After repeated mistakes and huge anguish over her mother's opiate addiction and mental illness, she learned to embrace her own power and took control of her life. She learned that by living her truth, she would always be free!
With empathy and transparency, Marci tells a story that is at once typical and burdened by toxicity. She discovered her resilience and who she is through soul searching, therapy, and creative expression to prove how amazing life and love can truly be when you give yourself PERMISSION TO LAND.
Join her on this lifetime adventure.
The title came from a metaphor Marci used to describe how she felt when she was at her most emotionally and spiritually lost. She felt like an airplane endlessly circling an airport waiting for permission to land.
What she learned through my journey is that she didn't need anyone's permission to land or create a life or love, home and belonging. Much like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, she had the power to create that for herself all along.
It was up to her, just as it is up to each of us.

Reviews
"Permission to Land: Searching for Love, Home & Belonging is a life-changing story of what it's like to grow up under the veil of bipolarity and drug abuse and to have that multi-generational pattern of abuse shape a life. Marci Brockmann shows us how she used tools she learned in therapy and through the creation of art to find her true self, heal her childhood wounds, and take control of her life to find balance, home, and love."
-Sue Montalbano, LMHC"In truth, Permission to Land: Searching for Love, Home & Belonging is a tumultuous journey that is in equal parts grounded and commonplace as it is unique and ephemeral. The reader bears witness to many circumstances that we have all faced at one time or another, and just like a mother, mentor, sister, or best friend, Marci Brockmann translates these experiences in a way we can come to understand the significance of our own conflicts, and our own mountains. Marci's life is a prime example of how one can not only live with their heart wide open and come out the other side but emerge with resolute grace and timeless wisdom."
-Kerry Jane Kelvas, Author and Creator of the YouTube Channel Metanoia."Marci Brockmann has written a book with a profound message. It captures the emotional component of living a life that was both traumatic and abusive. Her story speaks to everyone as it helps us heal and understand the long-range effects of abuse and the impact it has on our journey and destination. She reaches her reader in a most helpful and informative way making them feel connected to her stories and feel close to her. Her psychological knowledge comes through in her story and gives hope and empowerment to those who suffer from a history of familial mental illness. A must-read."
