About the Author

Ezra Pound (1885-1972) was one of the most influential poets of the 20th Century and perhaps the key figure in defining and promoting Anglo-American poetic modernism. The Cantos - an epic poem written over 50 years - is his major poetic work.

THOMAS STEARNS ELIOT was born in St Louis, Missouri, in 1888. He moved to England in 1914 and published his first book of poems in 1917. He received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1948. Eliot died in 1965.

John Berryman is a data scientist at EventBrite where he specializes in recommendations and search. He is interested in the potential of integrating semantic understanding into search and discovery applications.

Richard Sieburth is the translator from the French of works by Nostradamus, Scève, Labé, Nerval, Baudelaire, Artaud, Leiris, and Michaux. His translations from the German include Hölderlin, Büchner, Benjamin, and Scholem. In addition, he is the editor of a number of Ezra Pound's works.
