Description

Naturalia is a curated collection of images showcasing urban ruins reclaimed by nature. Ornate country mansions, luxury modernist designer homes, stone churches, farm holdings, factories, institutions, private homes, train stations, planes, cars, tanks, trains, palatial courtyards, plantation mansions, spaces of work and play, life and death, all in the vivid processes of reclamation. A wide range of architectural styles from classical to hyper-modern are pictured in the grip of wild, resurgent nature.--Jonathan Jimenez

About the Author

Jonathan 'Jonk' Jimenez (Paris). A passionate photographer since an early age, Jonathan 'Jonk' Jimenez discovered urban exploration a decade ago. Starting with the catacombs and rooftops of Paris, it lead to abandoned spaces with fabulous décor and extraordinary atmosphere. While photographing he found a particular interest in those scenes created by nature taking back inhabited spaces. He has spent the last number of years looking for these places and his adventures have led him to explore more than 700 abandoned locations in 30 countries on 4 continents.
Professor Emeritus of Classical Archaeology at Sorbonne Université in Paris. Alain Schnapp has been visiting professor at a number of institutions, including Princeton University and Stanford University.
