Wendy Wahman is an award-winning artist who has created many wonderful books about animals, including Don't Lick the Dog--which was a Bank Street Best Children's Book of the Year--A Cat Like That, Rabbit Stew, and Pony in the City. Her poodle LaRoo inspired this story after affectionately being nicknamed "Nanny LaRoo" because of the way she fussed over her neighbor's children.
