About the Author

David Kirk grew up in the wild and boundless suburbs of central Ohio, where he learned about small creatures and art. He is the creator of Miss Spider, who appears in many well-loved children's books and her own television series. Nova the Robot and the Biddle books are also his creations. Some of his recent books are Oh So Tiny Bunny, Oh So brave Dragon, and Truckeroo School. His latest, My Hugging Rules will arrive in 2019 . An inventor as well as an author, David started several toy companies, including Ovicular Toyworks, Hoobert Toys, David Kirk's Fun House, and the Sunny Patch brand. His newest toy, Art Face by David Kirk is available in the app store and on Google Play. He lives in a secluded woodland with his family. They are happily surrounded by a large and well-fed menagerie of hamsters, guinea pigs, chipmunks, squirrels, groundhogs, skunks, possums, deer, foxes, and bunnies, each one as fluffy and huggable as can be.

Reviews

LITTLE MISS SPIDER
". . . Kirk's oil paintings glow with luminescent colors and here, printed on laminated pages, they closely resemble animation cells. Not only do Miss Spider fans now have a prequel, this tale will likely convert arachnophobes to arachnophiles, at least when it comes to Miss Spider."--Publishers Weekly

OH SO BRAVE DRAGON
"Kirk's lustrous images perfectly capture expressions of surprise, fear, and curiosity."--School Library Journal
"An engagingly subtle way to convey the power of friends in helping us face our fears, real or not."--Kirkus Reviews

OH SO TINY BUNNY
"Fluorescent colors, unusual perspectives and an irresistible, blue-eyed bunny with a glowing pink nose draw readers in, but it's the emotional flow of the text and the wildly exuberant ego exploration that make this fanciful story memorable."--Kirkus Reviews, starred review
