Serving as the Chief Communications Officer for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the European CEO for a major global communications firm, Heidi Seaborn thrived on a degree of chaos--moving 27 times for a career that criss-crossed the globe, with her three children in tow. Along the way, she divorced, her father died, her children grew up and she learned to harness chaos into happiness through love and poetry. Since she started writing in 2016, her poetry has appeared in numerous journals and anthologies including Nimrod, Penn Review, Yamasee Journal and American Journal of Poetry. She's the 2018 Joy Bale Boone Poetry Prize winner and has been shortlisted for over a dozen prizes including the International Literary Awards Rita Dove Award in Poetry, Mississippi Review Poetry Prize, New Millennium Prize for Poetry, Wheelbarrow Books Prize for Poetry, Patricia Dobler Poetry Award and Lauren K. Alleyne Difficult Fruit Poetry Prize. She's a New York University MFA candidate, graduate of Stanford University and is Poetry Editor of The Adroit Journal. Her chapbook Finding My Way Home was published by Finishing Line Press in 2018. Seaborn lives in Seattle on the edge of Puget Sound with her husband and dog. This is her first full-length collection of poetry.
