Reviews
"One of the West's singular migrations--from the Azores to California's Great Central Valley--is given faces and voices in Land of Milk and Money. A must read."--Gerald Haslam, author of The Great Central Valley

"Exceptional descriptive writing. Laugh out loud funny."--Max Norris, former Sacramento Bee book review editor

"Brilliantly orchestrated, hilariously funny, and at the same time touching. . . . The characters are a lively and varied bunch and Mr. Barcellos delineates them with considerable verve, humor, and intelligence. You will enjoy getting to know them."--Julian Silva, author of Move Over, Scopes and Other Writings

"In Land of Milk and Money, Barcellos mines rich family history with the Portuguese immigrant experience in California's Central Valley to create a full-blooded tale that readers will find insightful, rewarding, and entertaining."--John Lescroart, author of The Hunter
