Description

For Sophia Demetrios, in prison for a murder she can't remember committing, the thought that the past isn't what she's been told gives her what she has most lacked hope. But is allowing herself to hope only a prelude to further despair?

For ex-homicide detective, Christopher Worthy, being told the past, his past, isn't what he's always assumed forces him to return to the darkest days of his life. Is it possible that he made a mistake thirteen years before and arrested the wrong person?

Father Nicholas Fortis, a friend of both Worthy and the Demetrios family, understands that neither Sophia nor Worthy can by themselves find the answers they need. And as Father Nick considers the host of adversaries arrayed against Sophia and Worthy, he knows that he can't save his friends without the help of others. Characters from earlier mysteries in the series return in Lambs to the Slaughter to assist, but will they be able to uncover the truth before it's too late for Sophia and Worthy?

Reviews

"A consistently compelling and entertaining read from first page to last. Highly recommended."

-Midwest Book Review

"Author David Carlson has created a great team in Fortis and Worthy. The priest's kind, open manner and knowledge of scripture and theology complement Worthy's hard-nosed pursuit of killers."

-Rich Zahradnik, author of the Coleridge Taylor Mysteries
