About the Author

Katie Ridder's work has been published in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, House Beautiful, Town & Country, Veranda, and the New York Times. She was the subject of Katie Ridder Rooms and co-author of A House in the Country with her husband, architect Peter Pennoyer. She is on the board of directors of the Garden Conservancy and the Horticulture Committee of the New York Botanical Garden. Her firm also produces wallpaper, fabric, and carpets of her own design. Jorge Arango has written about interior design and architecture for more than 35 years. His work has appeared in House & Garden, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, Interiors, Luxe, and 1stdibs.com's Introspective, among others. He lives in Portland, Maine. Cape Cod native Eric Piasecki lives in New York City. He contributes regularly to Elle Decor, Architectural Digest, and House Beautiful, among other magazines. Dominique Browning is a founder and the director of Moms Clean Air Force, a million-member group united against climate change and air pollution; it is a special program of the Environmental Defense Fund, where she is an associate vice president. Previously, she was the editor in chief of House & Garden for more than a decade; her career in the magazine business, as an editor and writer, spanned publications as diverse as Esquire, Texas Monthly, and Newsweek. She writes regularly for the New York Times op/ed pages and Book Review.
