Inside a Young Soul...

Nicole A. Schmidt grew up on Long Island. She moved to Maryland in 2004 to attend the University of Maryland, College Park, where she earned a Bachelor's of Arts degree in English. In 2011, she received a Master's of Arts degree in Leadership in Teaching from Notre Dame of Maryland University. In 2013, she received her Administrator I Certification from Bowie State University. Ms. Schmidt ("Schmidtty" to her mentees) began her teaching career in 2007 as a long term substitute. She spent the next five years teaching at a high school in the Prince George's County School System. In 2013, she moved to Charles County, where she currently teaches. Nicole has always seen teaching as more than a job, more than career; she views teaching as a divine calling. With that in mind, she became of member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. whose core mission is to empower the community through education. As an educator, she has had the pleasure of meeting special individuals. Her hope is that she was able to make a small impact on each of their lives as they have made a huge impact on hers.
