About the Author
TED BISHOP is a professor emeritus of English literature and film studies at the University of Alberta. His first book, Riding with Rilke, was a Canadian bestseller and was shortlisted for the Governor General's Literary Award for non-fiction. His travel essay "The Hawkman of Kandahar" won the Prairie Fire award for non-fiction. He has received a CBC literary award for travel, and two nominations for National Magazine Awards for his motorcycle essays.
