About the Author

Carolyn Curtis is an award-winning author and poet who lives in Massachusetts, USA with her family, including - always! - a beloved dog or two. She has enjoyed nurturing both people and pets in a variety of professional and volunteer positions. She believes it's important to embrace the world with a sense of wonder, and draws inspiration from the children she has been fortunate to know.

A graduate in illustration from the London College of Printing, Alison Jay has been illustrating children's books for ten years. To create her unique style, she uses alkyd oil paint on paper with a crackling varnish, which gives her illustrations an antique, nostalgic quality. Alison lives and works in London, England.

Reviews

"I love the rhyming text the book is written in, because part of the beauty of poetry is its role in being able to say so much in so few words. The story is also beautifully illustrated" -- Scholastic Child Education PLUS
"The rhyming text is told in first person, with the repetitive, soothing refrain of the words from the title effectively echoing throughout" -- Kirkus Reviews
