About the Author

Mary Sue Englund is an award-winning graphic designer, author, and singer-songwriter. She is the recipient of an Addy award for the design of Taylor Swift's 2011 "Speak Now" tour book, as well as a Benjamin Franklin award for her work as a cover designer for Jon Hassler's Keepsakes and Other Studies. Englund has designed more than sixty books during her twenty-six years with Afton Press and nine years for Dunham Books, in addition to more than fifty album covers for artists such as Kenny Loggins, Manhattan Transfer, Tom Jones, Cyndi Lauper, Bad Company, Ann Wilson, Heart, and others. Englund studied advertising and graphic design at the University of St. Thomas. As a musician, Englund has penned five full-length albums and has been a regular at the Grand Ole Opry for more than a decade. Englund's songs have been featured on Country Music Television, Great American Country, Fox Television, and WSM worldwide radio out of Nashville, and international radio. Currently she tours and performs with her band, Joyful Noise, and as a solo artist and speaker at events and healing concerts worldwide. She and her husband live in Nashville, Tennessee. I Am a Woman is her first book.
