Description
Author Henry Herz tells a clever story about a selfish squid who pays the price for stretching the patience of his fellow sea creatures thin. The tale trails a shivering squid swimming through the cold waters of winter who spots a cozy looking sweater. Although it belongs to an octopus, the squid makes off with the sweater. Still not cozy, the squid keeps swimming and helping himself to more clothes to keep himself warm, until the true owners of the clothes come after him with dire consequences! This charming new twist on a pourquoi tale is complete with colorful comic book style illustrations and scientific information about real life squids that will interest readers of all ages!

Henry Herz is the author of 11 children's books, including Cap'n Rex & His Clever Crew, 2 Pirates + 1 Robot, and the Kirkus-starred I Am Smoke. His short stories have appeared in Highlights and Ladybug. He loves his family, dogs, and Boston cream pie.
Artist Luke Graber has been passionate about drawing stories since childhood. He earned a BFA in illustration from the Cleveland Institute of Art and illustrated his first pourquoi tale, about a rhino, while still a student. He honed his distinctive style through several more book projects before joining Essence Cartoon as a freelance illustrator and 2D animator. Aside from illustration, he enjoys comic books, which is how he met Herz and began drawing squids, since the ocean is far away from his home in Ohio.
