About the Author

Rae McDonald makes her home in the great Pacific Northwest where she roams through magnificent forests and along treasure lined seashores. Children's books are the center of her creative live both in her studio and as a librarian. The magic of stories, information, and illustration make every day in the library filled with possibility. A constant source of inspiration and support comes from her long-standing Pens and Paint critique group, her family, and the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. For Rae, a good day is a creative day whether it be working out the bones of a new story, digging around in the garden, or playing with art. Her doodle dog, Ben, leads the way on daily outdoor expeditions, and her bicycle is really a creativity generator in disguise. Rae's story file is reaching epic proportions. Eric Groff was born and raised by a family of artists in Jefferson, Maryland. Graduating from Frostburg State University with a focus in illustration and printmaking, he enjoys bringing ideas to life through a variety of traditional and digital media. His work has contributed to the development of games, character design, and public exhibition. With a strong interest in using art as a form of storytelling, Eric is excited to enter the world of children's book illustration.
