Description

Like music, cooking and baking must be shared. Like any art at its best, keep the Muse in attendance and love in your heart.

Ginna's Café is a state of mind. Starting at the family farm in Ohio where, as a child, Ginna first punched down a rising mound of dough, to the Chopra Center for Well Being in Southern California, where, as Executive Chef, she perfected the sweet potato paratha, to the actual Ginna's Café in Carmel Valley, where her famous scones and popovers sold out every day: this is Ginna's world, her state of mind, her expression of love.

The recipes in this book represent a lifetime of baking. Dip a Lemon Zest Scone into your steaming latté, split a Molasses Ginger Cookie with a friend, build a Gingerbread House with your grandchildren. "Ginna's Café the bakery" has more than 100 delicious, easy to follow recipes. Keep it on hand. You never know when you might want to make Buttermilk Muffins.

About the Author

During the past four decades, Ginna Gordon has served as executive chef for spas, inns, retreat centers, and cafés. She has created special food-related events for non-profits, catered large and small parties, and cooked for movie stars and other interesting private clients. She is a versatile chef, but baking is her specialty. The popular Ginna's Café in Carmel Valley was the go-to place for breakfast, lunch, and fabulous baked goods. "Ginna's Café-the bakery" is her sixth cookbook. Her other cookbooks include: "A Simple Celebration - the Nutritional Program for the Chopra Center for Well Being"; "Bonnebrook Farm," "The Gingerbread Farm," "First You Grow the Pumpkin," and "The Soup Kit." Currently, Ginna serves as food and kitchen and menu consultant to inns, restaurants, and spas in Central California. She and her husband, musician and author David Gordon (www.spiritsound.com) are also partners in Lucky Valley Press, a boutique book design company for independent authors: www.luckyvalleypress.com. Ginna's cookbooks and also her novels ("Bear me Away to a Better World," and "The Lavandula Series") are available wherever books are sold.
