One of my granddaughters who got [Gary and the Great Inventors] for a present relayed this story to her Dad... It turns out the teacher was asked the 3rd grade class if anyone knew what a patent was for? Having read about inventors and the need to get a patent, my 8 year old granddaughter raised her hand excitedly saying she knew. She told what it was and explained she had learned about patents from the inventor's book her grandparents had given her. Isn't that amazing? We were so proud of her.

This is a great book for all ages. As an adult I learned about Thomas Jennings being the first African American to get a U.S. patent. The content of this book is excellent an very educational. The illustrations are so real they jump off the page. I would recommend this book to all ages. I look forward to reading more educational books from this new author (Akura Marshall). You have a great future as a writer!
