Library Journal's Romance Pick of May 2024!Amazon Editors' Pick - Best Romance Books of August 2024!
"Heartfelt and romantic, Noué Kirwan has crafted an authentic love story about family--both born into and created--and the power of forgiveness that will stay with you long after you've read the last sentence." --Tracey Livesay, author of American Royalty
Her life is up in the air--literally...
Lanie Turner has some loose ends:
- A nearly complete PhD.
- A job she basically enjoys.
- And a lifelong crush...that she's almost gotten over.
On a trip to reunite with her family in England--and said crush, Jonah--Lanie intends to take care of one of those items. Her favorite cousin, Gemma, is engaged...to Jonah. And they want Lanie to be both their maid of honor and best "mate" at the wedding. It's the perfect opportunity to prove the pitying gazes wrong: she's over Jonah. Really.
As Lanie travels between New York City and London to help with wedding prep, she befriends her handsome seatmate. Dr. Ridley Aronsen--a widower and single father--who is prickly at first, but feisty Lanie reminds him of a more carefree time in his life. And after a steamy layover in Iceland, the pair take a direct flight from seatmates to lovers. Ridley even agrees to be her plus-one for the wedding. For once, everything seems to be falling into place.
But Lanie's used to getting hurt, and Ridley finds opening up difficult. How will a long-distance relationship even work once Lanie's back in NYC permanently? It's easy enough to let one more loose thread unravel...after all, life's problems seem tiny from thirty-five thousand feet in the air.
From the author of Long Past Summer and perfect for fans of Bolu Babalola, Preslaysa Williams, and Jill Santopolo, Noué Kirwan's next novel is a jetsetting treat for every armchair traveler.

Noué Kirwan has wanted to be a writer since childhood. Growing up in part on the West Coast taught Noué to appreciate the beauty of the outdoors and the everyday magic of a well-spent day, while living in the heart of New York City for the past twenty-plus years taught her she can sleep through anything. She enjoys critiquing films, binge-watching TV shows, and cozying up with a good book from her ever-expanding TBR list. She is a nervous flier but an avid traveler who can have her passport ready and a bag packed in under an hour.
Reviews
"Buckle up, because Frequent Fliers will leave you swooning! Noué Kirwan crafted an emotional and lovely journey. Come for the witty banter between Lanie and Ridley, and stay for the swoon-worthy longing this novel evokes. I couldn't put it down! Frequent Fliers will feed your wanderlust in the best way possible." --Erin La Rosa, author of Plot Twist "A heartwarming story about finding love in unexpected places and with unlikely people." --Jane Igharo, author of Where We End & Begin "Realistic and relatable from the start, Frequent Fliers introduces us to people who are trying to find their place in the world, hoping that spot might hold a little romance, a little love. As the story progresses, Kirwan's characters become friends. You hope for them, laugh with them, cry for them, and ultimately rejoice in how their stories unfold." --Loretta Nyhan, bestselling author of Digging In "Frequent Fliers has an entertaining cast of characters! I loved the way Lanie and Ridley's relationship evolved from annoyed seatmates on a plane into a swoon-worthy romance." --Synithia Williams, author of The Secret to a Southern Wedding "Heartfelt and romantic, Noué Kirwan has crafted an authentic love story about family--both born into and created--and the power of forgiveness that will stay with you long after you've read the last sentence." --Tracey Livesay, author of American Royalty "Noué Kirwan's books always deliver a rich, layered experience, with characters who are flawed and real and enough drama and tension to keep me on the edge of my seat. Frequent Fliers gave me that fizzy feeling like ginger ale on a plane; that contemplative feeling like staring out the window at the clouds; that swooping stomach feeling like takeoff. I loved it!" --Alicia Thompson, USA Today bestselling author of With Love, from Cold World PRAISE FOR LONG PAST SUMMER "Kirwan's excellent debut brings charm, complexity, and plenty of heat...This mature, steamy romance will have readers swooning." --Publishers Weekly, starred review "This debut novel addresses what it's like to grow up with absent and deceased parents as well as the pressure on Black professionals to overperform while conforming to White norms. The harsh realities of Julie and Mikaela's fractured friendship, Mikaela's fraught relationship with her mother, and Mikaela's inability to see Cameron for who he is are all developed with skill and empathy. Mikaela's sister, Vanessa, pokes fun at her, providing pitch-perfect humor. Most of all, Mikaela travels a long road to stop hiding from her own emotions and needs....This fast-moving novel spotlights a smart woman's journey to find what she wants." --Kirkus Reviews "In this deftly written and engaging novel, Mikaela and Cameron are well developed but flawed protagonists whose scenes together are filled with heated arguments and hotter sex. Flashbacks to their shared past provides glimpses of what they lost and why their present is so tumultuous. Secondary characters guide (and push) the couple through to their happily ever after. VERDICT Readers of angsty, drama-filled storylines will enjoy this love triangle, second-chance romance." --Library Journal "Noué Kirwan deftly traverses decades to tell the story of New York City attorney Mikaela Marchand's intertwined relationships with her best friend and her first love....a sizzling love story you won't want to put down." --ESSENCE "A steamy romance full of heart... A story of lost love and forgotten friendships, Long Past Summer is a smart, sexy romance that pushes the boundaries of the genre and will appeal to readers of all stripes." --Shelf Awareness "This book is an emotional whirlwind and is the perfect next read for fans of Seven Days in June." --BuzzFeed, Best Books of August 2022 "An emotionally charged novel in the vein of The Mothers and An American Marriage." --Bustle "Noué Kirwan's debut novel Long Past Summer is more than a beautiful, scrappy and hard-won second chance romance. It's a story of the real, tangled and sometimes painful relationships of family, lovers and friendships. It also captures the empowering, healing relationship of a woman with herself. In a word? Long Past Summer is powerful." --Naima Simone, USA Today bestselling author "A whip-smart, electrifying debut that marks Noué Kirwan as an author to watch." --Yaffa S. Santos, author of A Taste of Sage "Noué Kirwan is a welcome, smart new voice in romantic women's fiction. Long Past Summer delves into family, friendships, and romantic love, deftly examining how our childhood influences our perceptions, and how discrimination impacts women trying to strike a balance between their own ambitions and their personal relationships. Not only that, but every reader will swoon over the eminently lovable hero, Cam. A winning debut from an author to watch." --Jamie Beck, WSJ and USA Today bestselling author "It is rare to find a romance that spans decades, yet still leaves you craving more. Long Past Summer is that romance. Noué Kirwan's exquisitely-written debut left me breathless." --Farrah Rochon, USA Today bestselling author of The Dating Playbook
