"I highly recommend this series!" Ian Rankin
'The only thing more terrifying than fighting for your own life is fighting for someone else's.'
Protecting a wayward heiress on Long Island-playground of New York's wealthy elite-is the perfect assignment for bodyguard Charlie Fox. With her partner in a coma and his shooter on the loose, she desperately needs the distraction.
Staying close to Dina Willner at parties aboard luxury yachts, glittering events at the local country club, and out horse-riding along the exclusive sands is all part of the job for Charlie. But the reckless behaviour of her thrill-seeking client will put them both in real danger. The kidnappers who ransomed four other young heirs somehow outwitted any security.
Now the only way Charlie can stay ahead of the game is to uncover the rich and untouchables' darkest secrets. The kind that can destroy a future-or bury someone deep. With her client's life on the line and the clock ticking, Charlie faces an impossible choice between justice and revenge.
If you like Lee Child but have been looking for strong yet believable female protagonists, who will take down the bad guys without hesitation but who are still human enough to care, then bodyguard Charlie Fox is definitely for you. Readers have found books in this series action-packed thrill rides that kept them glued to the end, well-written, gritty, and hard to put down. A real page-turner.
This is Book #9 in the Charlie Fox series. Although I've tried hard to make each of the stories stand alone, inevitably Charlie's history builds up over the course of the novels. If you are new to the series and want to know the full story of Charlie-how she began working with Sean Meyer after their time in the Army-then start at the beginning. If you're more interested in Charlie's career as a close-protection operative, then I'd recommend you begin with Book #4, FIRST DROP, when she and her teenage charge find themselves on the run during her first bodyguard job in Florida.
About the Author
Zoë Sharp opted out of mainstream education at the age of 12 and wrote her first novel at 15. She went through a variety of strange professions before becoming a photojournalist in 1988. It was after receiving death threats in the course of her work that she started writing the first of her award-winning crime thriller series featuring Special Forces dropout-turned-bodyguard, Charlotte 'Charlie' Fox, which has been optioned for film/TV. DANCING ON THE GRAVE was originally written as a standalone crime thriller, but such has been the reception to Grace and Nick that Sharp has written a sequel, with at least one more planned. When not travelling, crewing yachts, riding motorcycles or improvising everyday objects for self-defence purposes, she can be found renovating houses or international pet-sitting.
