He interpreted scenes from fairy tales, opera, and Shakespearean comedy with whimsical and romantic images that continue to enchant children and adults alike. English author Flora Annie Steel (1847-1929) lived in India for more than two decades, where she wrote a popular history of the country and collected regional folktales.
