Growing up in Houston, Texas, Emily Hanson Collis fondly remembers spending time outdoors and fishing with her family at their weekend home in Galveston. Emily and her late husband raised two sons in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She now lives in Carlsbad, California, after retiring from a thirty-year career as a school fundraiser.
