About the Author
Renowned designers Charles and Ray Eames are among the greatest designers of the 20th century. They are, of course, most well known for their groundbreaking and iconic furniture designs, but they also created important, creative, experimental, and beautiful work in the areas of architecture, exhibit design, textile design, product design, graphic design, toy design, film, and photography. Charles and Ray Eames brought a sense of innocence and playfulness to the design process, as well as a tremendous love and discipline in all they created in many different fields and mediums.
As the design director for AMMO Books, Gloria Fowler has created a design-centric line of children's books and products. She also co-edited and designed the coffee table monograph, "Eames: Beautiful Details." Gloria has taught design for more than 20 years at the renowned Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.
California-native Steve Crist's TASCHEN titles include André de Dienes's Marilyn, William Claxton's Steve McQueen, and The Polaroid Book.
Reviews
"An epic homage to one of the most iconic American design couples." --Goop "The Eameses brought a sense of humour and joy to their creations, and this is celebrated in the design and layout of the book. 'Eames: Beautiful Details' is a fascinating account of these two marvellous designers, whose work refuses to fade." --Houses Magazine
