About the Author

Megan Mary Moore holds an MFA in poetry from Miami University. She is the author of Dwellers (Unsolicited Press, 2019) and her work has appeared in Rattle, Grist, and Contemporary Verse 2. She lives in Cincinnati where she frequently dresses like a fairy princess, watches too many horror movies, and writes poems about things that scare her.

Reviews

Powerful, moving, clear-eyed, and unforgettable, the poems in Megan Mary Moore 's Dwellers tread the space between the ordinary and the uncanny, between the abject and the marvelous, between the grisly and the numinous with lines like "Blue: the color spit down to us from / the man in the moon." Here the poems present the body as marked by gender and the violence of patriarchy, speak through the lens of girlhood, and poverty. Cinematic, sharp, and haunting, the poems read like murder ballads, David Lynch-style. This is an astonishing collection.
