About the Author
SHELLY SANDERS is the bestselling author of Daughters of the Occupation, which received a starred review in Kirkus. The novel was inspired by her grandmother's family, many of whom were killed during the Holocaust in Latvia. Sanders began her writing career as a freelance journalist working for national publications including the Toronto Star, National Post, Maclean's, Canadian Living, Reader's Digest and Today's Parent. She is also the author of three acclaimed young adult historical fiction novels (The Rachel Trilogy); one received a starred review in Booklist, and the others were named Notable Books for Teens by the Association of Jewish Libraries.

"A riveting story that will keep you turning the pages way into the night." -- Joy Fielding, author of All the Wrong Places
