About the Author

Kristin Ayyar is the mother of three wonderful children, an avid volunteer in her community, and was an Air Force spouse for over 24 years. Countdown 'til Mommy Comes Home is based on her family's experiences and is filled with rituals that she and her children followed when her husband was traveling the globe or deployed overseas serving our nation.

When she was a little girl, Melissa Bailey secretly wanted to be a children's book illustrator. Now a grownup kid, her dream has become her real-life job. She's had an absolute blast illustrating over 40 books. Melissa lives on a dirt road near a small town in Michigan, happily surrounded by family, friends, poodles, and art supplies.
