Between Worlds
For sixteen-year-old Noa Keegan panic attacks are part of life, but this one is different: she wakes up in a parallel universe, Terra, where she is treated as a security risk. Her guard, a nineteen-year-old Sentinel named Avery McTighe, is easily the most serious and mesmerizing person Noa has ever met.
When anti-government rebels kidnap her and Avery, the two of them realize Terra plans to wipe out Earth's population for better access to its resources. Bound together by mutual attraction and a common goal Noa and Avery must find a way to abort Terra's murderous schemes, but when Avery gets injured, their chances are bleak.
Hunted across universes by Terran forces and with the clock ticking down to the annihilation of the human race, Noa has one shot at saving the universe she grew up in--or the Sentinel she's falling in love with.

Become an affiliateBetween Worlds by Micky O'Brady is a young adult science fiction novel that packs a punch of romance and incredible action that will leave you breathless. Apart from having panic attacks, Noa was your regular teenager. She was doing the best she could and taking everything one day at a time. But it is a completely different ball game when she finds herself away from Earth and in a place called Terra. She is a risk here, she threatens their security, and this is why she has a guard at her side all the time. Avery McTighe is not someone she would have ever thought of finding, but there is something about him that attracts her. But when they are kidnapped by rebels and find out their nefarious plans for Earth, she knows that it is up to her and Avery to save Earth. But what can Noa do? She is just an ordinary human who is nothing special.
This is an incredibly well-paced story packed full of action, adventure, and romance. Reading Between Worlds was a sensory experience; the author used just the right words to make it a whole new experience for me. The descriptions were vivid, the imagery was rich and the characters were really well-developed. Noa and Avery had a very special relationship; they understood the gravity of the situation and understood each other. The Terra universe is very believable. Micky O'Brady ensured that once you start reading about this place, you can imagine yourself there easily. The tension is palpable, the characters are given ample opportunities to show their potential and ensure that the reader is there with them until the very end. This is an incredible story, one that I would love to see made into a motion picture. Really interesting and entertaining from every aspect.

Micky O'Brady has crafted a novel that will entice fans of I Am Number Four and novels with plot points that take readers beyond our world. The masterful control of style and material is noticeable in the narrative, and strong themes are explored, including coming of age, adventure, and the fight for justice. Each chapter possesses its own elegance, perfectly written to move the reader easily along towards the next one. The characters are elaborately developed and I felt a strong connection with the female protagonist. From the start of the story, there is something unusual about her and her panic attacks got me thinking she is meant for something higher, something she's about to discover, and then - boom - it comes, shattering everything. The tension in Between Worlds is introduced at the right moment and it builds up to a satisfying conclusion.
