About the Author
JANE E. RUTH is a retired nurse who worked forty-seven years in the medical field. She has lived in the Boquete area in Panama for ten years.
As Secretary / Treasurer of Cleft of the Rock Ministries, Jane works with the Ngäbe people, mainly on the comarca. During her ministry, Jane noticed that the Ngäbe had few books for children and the older Ngäbe people often expressed the desire to retain their language. She has published a concept book Chalina la cerdita cuenta hasta diez en ngäbere (Chalina counts to ten in Ngäbere) in 2021.
Jane likes to write, paint, and do crafts while attending her fourteen gardens. Bella & Chantey is her first picture book which also involves the Ngäbe Comarca. Two coloring books have joined the list ,Bella & Chantey Rainforest Animals, and A Coloring book about Ngäbes. Jane is currently working on a story of a British Guyana girl curious about What's Behind the Yellow Door.
