About the Author
Fariha Ro´isi´n is an Australian-Canadian writer based in Brooklyn. Her writing often explores Muslim identity, race, pop culture, and film. It also examines the intersection of queerness and being a femme of color while navigating a white world.
Monica Ramos is an artist, illustrator and gardener. Her practice explores themes of femininity, sexuality, mental health and connection to the natural world through works on paper with watercolors, as well as ceramics, publications and small objects.
Her commissioned work, spanning book covers, adverts, editorials and branding has led her to collaborate with The New York Times, Google, Chronicle Books, Penguin Random House, Quill, the Asian American Literary Review, Hermes, Lucky Peach, Rookie, The Fader, and Sueddeutsche Zeitung Magazine. She has participated in group exhibitions locally and internationally such as A Body Awaits at the Cooler Gallery, NYC, Melted City 4 at Blanc Gallery, Quezon City and CrossLines: A Culture Lab on Intersectionality, at the Smithsonian Arts & Industries Building, Washington. In 2019, she had a solo exhibition of a new body of large-scale works titled "Tenderness" at 865 G Galley in Mandaue, Cebu City. She lived and worked in New York City / Lenapehoking for over a decade and recently moved back home to Manila.
