Anne of Green Gables
A classic of children's literature, it tells the tale of a peculiar 11-year old orphan girl called Anne who lives on a farm called Green Gables in the fictional town of Avonlea of Prince Edward Island, Canada.
Anne is an optimistic redheaded girl in this classic children's novel. When Matthew and Marilla, a pair of siblings, decide to adopt a boy from a distant orphanage to help them work on their farm, they don't get what they bargained for, accidentally getting Anne instead.
Written for all ages by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery, the novel held massive success since the mid-twentieth century.
