About the Author
Kristen Ellis-Henderson is the founding member of the all-female rock band Antigone Rising, and co-author of Times Two: Two Women in Love and the Happy Family They Made, written with her wife Sarah Kate Ellis. The two moms learned they were each pregnant on the same day with due dates only three days apart! As a proud lesbian mother of twin 10 year olds, Kristen is passionate about expanding images of LGBTQ families in media.

Sarah Kate Ellis is the president and CEO of GLAAD, the nation's leading LGBTQ+ media advocacy group. She has been a publishing executive for the brands Real Simple, Vogue, and InStyle. Dedicated to making LGBTQ people of all ages feel seen and understood, Sarah Kate has played a key role in driving the growing trend of LGBTQ inclusion in kids and family media over the past several years.

The first gift Max Rambaldi remembers receiving was a yellow pencil and a stack of plain paper. She
grew up in Italy, filling blank spaces with her brush strokes. She believes that the world deserves more colors and shades.
Married coauthors Ellis, a GLAAD executive, and Ellis-Henderson, a musician, offer an expansive view of motherhood in this stylish homage. True to its name, the book attempts to celebrate "all moms"-including a pilot, a boss, and a doctor, as well as a single mother, two dads who "give hugs/ just like moms," and one "great nana." One notable scene features a joyous march with participants holding aloft Pride and Transgender Pride flags, as well as signs that read "equality" and "love is love" "Some moms make signs/ and march in parades.// Some moms give kisses/ and make lemonade.// But all moms/ will help you/ and come to/ your aid." Matching the energy of the text's rhyming prose, Rambaldi's hip illustrations busily burst with life, depicting parents and children with varying abilities, gender expressions, skin tones, and body types.... With their inclusive focus, this well-matched trio show that above all, it's kindness and care that define "mom." Ages 4-8.-- "Publishers Weekly"
Moms come in many shapes, sizes, and colors, but they are all special, as shown in this heartwarming picture book. The book depicts a diverse array of mothers and mother-figures engaging in a variety of activities with their children. The moms are frequently very active, whether they're flying airplanes or making lemonade. They are shown at work in careers, such as being a boss or a doctor, as well as in nurturing roles around the house, making this book a wonderfully well-rounded depiction. There is also plenty of humor, showing that moms can be very silly, and definitely know how to have a lot of fun, too. The illustrations are warm and comforting, showing diverse people, settings, and family structures. The book is also all-inclusive, reminding readers that some families might have two fathers, or a grandparent in the main caretaking role instead. This celebration of motherhood will be beloved by children and guardians alike, and will be a perfect title to curl up with and share together.-- "CLCD"
