Reviews

Kathe Ray delivers a gripping recount of her family's struggle with international adoptions. This work is devastatingly honest, peeling back the layers of deception and exposing the hosting agencies, adoption agencies, orphanages, and governmental agencies for what they are - a corrupt vehicle trafficking emotionally and mentally damaged children across international lines through overt manipulation of unsuspecting, well meaning, adoptive parents. The greed behind the reckless driving of these forces is sickening and the carnage of broken families to be finished off by Child Protective Services or other such organizations, is shocking. Little else stands between complete shredding of their family fabric except for their complete devotion to each other and their unwavering, though sorely tested, faith in Yahweh. Through a nearly four year-long battle, Kathe and Tom are left shell shocked by adopted teens who cannot reconcile the transition from their native land to America. The injections of quotes by numerous families who have suffered similarly leaves the reader aching for a resolution on their behalf - the real victims. -Rebecca Bailey, Author of "To Touch the Hem"

"Kathe has done an amazing job of telling her gut-wrenching story of international adoption. Adoption Combat Zone is not anti-adoption but rather an educational tool for those considering international adoption. Many of us have sacrificed our children on the altar of adoption and live with the pain and guilt it brings each day. Kathe pours out her heart and in doing so, gives us a glimpse into the depth of her hurting soul, as she advocates for adoption reform. This book will bring you to tears, yet give you hope that the truth is being revealed and that a reformation will take place regarding adoption. I know this was tough for Kathe to write but she was created "for such a time as this" and I pray that beauty will come from her ashes as she shouts this from the rooftops to ensure others are spared from the potential pain and horror of the Adoption Combat Zone." -Becca Hill, adoptive mom
