About the Author
Heather Alexander is the author of two early-chapter book series--Wallace & Grace and The Amazing Stardust Friends--and the middle-grade novel, Picture Perfect #1: Bending Over Backwards. The former editorial director of Parachute Press, Heather has edited over 100 children's fiction series, including the best-selling Goosebumps and the early-chapter mystery series, The New Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley. Heather lives in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, with her husband and two daughters.

Michael Mullan is an artist and illustrator specializing in bold design, hand lettering, and whimsical maps. Michael grew up in the Chicago suburbs. He studied graphic design and earned an MFA in illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design. He lives and works from his home studio in Vermont. When he's not creating art, he enjoys hiking, running trails, and being outdoors.

"This activity book offers readers a veritable American road trip by way of geographically themed games, riddles, design activities, knowledge quizzes, and other tasks. Alexander integrates facts and insights into cultural and historical attractions across the states, and Mullan works in a playful art style that brings variety to each spread. In a scene depicting an Old West mining town, readers are invited to track down bags of gold; elsewhere, readers can draw dinosaur bones they might discover in fossil-rich regions. Armchair travelers or readers on the road will find much to explore. Includes stickers and a removable U.S. map." -- Publishers Weekly
"...full of vibrant colored matching games, crosswords, mazes, word searches, and more on nice thick pages. Plus, facts about the USA, wildlife, history, and culture!!" -- Jamie Bills
