About the Author

Congyun (a.k.a Mu Ming) Gu is a Chinese speculative fiction writer from Beijing, currently living in New York, US. Born in Chengdu in 1988, Gu has been publishing her unique short stories and novellas since 2016 across esteemed platforms like Clarkesworld, Samovar, and various Chinese literary outlets. She has won multiple awards, including the Best Short Story at the 31st Galaxy Awards and the Golden Award for the Best New Writer in the 11th Global Chinese Sci-Fi Nebula Award. In 2021 her first collection Colora il Mondo launched in Italian, and her first Chinese collection, The Serpentine Band, was on the China Books Review list of Best China Books of 2023.
