This book is so accessible...it gently normalizes parents' new partners. Reading this book over and over has given my 6 year-old and I shared language for his experience with his dad's new girlfriend and my boyfriend. My teens have also read it to him and it was so helpful for them as well! Our whole family is grateful for this thoughtful story and it's warm, inviting artwork. I recommend this to my friends, family, and clients who want to support their children's adjustment to their parents' changing relationships. This book is a delightful resource... I hope the author continues to create books like these!

As someone who grew up with divorced parents and step-parents, I love this book for the way it supports a child processing divorce. The story honors the child's mixed emotions, and presents an empowering concept of the new family "team." For a children's book, it's also just as helpful for the parents and guardians! It has lovely illustrations that feel warm and comforting. The layout is very easy to read, and the print and size feel great in hand. Perfect book for any family or friend experiencing divorce.
