About the Author

Wayne H. Bowen is professor and chair of the history department at Southeast Missouri State Uniersity, Cape Girardeau, MO. He is the author of Spaniards and Nazi Germany: Collaboration in the New Order (2000), as well as Spain during World War II (2006). Bowen is a Major in the Army Reserve, who served in Iraq and with NATO in Bosnia. A work based on his Iraqi experience, Undoing Saddam, (2007).

José lvarez is Professor of History at the University of Houston-Downtown. A specialist in Morocco and the Spanish Foreign Legion, he is the author of The Betrothed of Death: The Spanish Foreign Legion During the Rif Rebellion, 1920-1927 (Greenwood, 2001), as well as articles on armored and amphibious warfare.
