This volume fills a long-empty niche on the Fort Worth bookshelf: a scholarly history of the city's black community that starts at the beginning with Ripley Arnold and the early settlers, and comes down to today with our current battles over education, housing, and representation in city affairs. About the Author
RICHARD SELCER is a native Fort Worther who has taught in his hometown for more than forty years. He holds a PhD from TCU, and has authored ten books on Western, military, and cultural history. He has taught at Tarrant County College, Dallas County College, and Weatherford College.
