A Barefoot Tide
From rural Virginia to coastal Carolina Sometimes the biggest risk is in playing it safe...
Lilliane Moore leaves the forests and rolling hills of her rural Virginia hometown, Cub Creek, to accept a temporary job as a companion to an elderly man who lives at the beach. It's a risky move that's out of character for her, but her thirties are passing quickly-she feels like she's closing in on forty fast-plus she's got a hole in her roof and no AC. The big payday she's been promised for this short-term assignment will fix a lot of what's wrong in her life. The job is at the beach in North Carolina, in a place called Emerald Isle at the end of the Outer Banks. She's never seen the ocean before and she'd like to, but what's the catch?
Because there's always a catch, isn't there?
Taking a job in a home with someone she doesn't know and so far from her own home may be a risk-but the biggest risk for Lilliane may be the unexpected-including leaving the home and hometown to which her heart and past are irrevocably tied, and to which she must return-no matter what happens while she's away.

Beautifully written, with relatable characters, and a place so perfectly depicted I felt as if I'd made a trip to the beach, A Barefoot Tide is a balm for the soul. I loved reading this novel and it's a safe bet you will too." - Karen McQuestion, author of Half a Heart
"A Barefoot Tide by Grace Greene is a touching story of finding the beauty in life, despite the trials and tragedies life has put in the way.Author Grace Greene has a talent for writing heart warming stories of individuals overcoming adversity - and doing so with patience and grace - when many others would take a much different route. I highly recommend A Barefoot Tide (and sure do hope it won't be the end of this crossover story ) I easily give this book ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, but would give ❤❤❤❤❤ if it were an option." - CindyLovesBooks.com
"Sometimes All It Takes Is A Break. This was a remarkable tale of a woman who was down on her luck being given a chance... Lilliane's story was a great crossover between Greene's mountain based Cub Creek series and beach based Emerald Isle series, one full of heart and... well, grace.: D ... Very much recommended." - Jeff Sexton BookAnon.com
"I have thoroughly enjoyed all of Grace Greene's novels that I have been privileged to read, but nothing prepared me for A Barefoot Tide. The raw emotions so eloquently painted on the pages of this book bare the two main characters' souls, evoking a depth of empathy from the reader not often encountered. It isn't often a book effects me like this one did, and when one does the sensation is special indeed." - Christian Fiction and More (.blogspot.com)
