Suggested by Judi Quan, "This must read for summer has been around awhile. If you haven't read it, it's a quick read whose brilliance is in its simplicity. Everyone can relate to this tale of growing up and finding ones own path toward individuality. And it is guaranteed to give you plenty of things to ponder well after you have closed the back cover or walked away from your mat."
Suggested by Dennis Chowenhill, "Appearing last year, this is a new treatment of the life of one of the most celebrated yogis and founder of the Self Realization Fellowship. Up to now we have depended on Yogananda’s presentation of himself through his famous Autobiography of a Yogi; now we can look at that well-celebrated life from a third person perspective. Philip Goldberg is the author of American Veda: From Emerson and the Beatles to Yoga and Meditation, How Indian Spirituality Changed the West, which received a lot of attention when it came out in 2010. Goldberg also blogs for Elephant Journal and Spirituality and Health. The book is very readable (my copy has gathered some beach sand in it), and has an extensive Index for those of us scanning for specific information about Yogananda’s life."
Suggested by Mary Beth Ray, "Well, this isn't your typical "beach read" but if you like to nerd out on yoga things this is an easy and insightful and educational book that just came out and I'm very much enjoying."

Suggested Judi Quan, "I love this book because it's an accessible, insightful, and simple companion to the foundational text of Patanjali's The Yoga Sutras. It also has wonderful writing prompts to help readers reflect and delve more deeply into the meaning of the Sutras and how they live along side us in our every day lives."
