We understand the huge controversy of mixing New Mexican-born authors with authors who currently live/have lived in New Mexico. Most of the authors here are native New Mexicans; some, we felt inclined to still include because of their devotion to the area (such as Edward Abbey, Tony Hillerman, and John Nichols).
