The best selling books in downtown OKC for December 2023 were:
1. I Can Hear Everything from Here by Mark Walling (A superb set of short stories set in rural Oklahoma that feels like Raymond Carver by way of the Cohen Brothers. Published by Turning Plow Press)
2. Bigfoot Watching Woman Watching Bigfoot by M. Sparks Clark (A thriller with a big heart and a sense of humor that has really struck a chord with our readers, many of whom come back to buy copies to give to friends!)
3. In the Morning, the City Is the Prairie by Rob Roensch (This beautiful and moving novel captures contemporary OKC in a way that feels both intensely intimate and immediately recognizable. Published by Belle Point Press)
4. Taylor Swift: A Little Golden Book (Still going strong and leaving glitter on the floor after the party.)
5. Shady Hollow byJuneau Black (Us raving to anyone who will listen about this whole series, combined with the great cover art meant that we turned even more readers on to the adventures of Vera Vixen, et al.)
6. Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros (Even after the special edition sold out, readers kept embarking on this red hot series)
7. Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Tosikazu Kawaguchi (People keep discovering the magic of a visit to Funiculi Funicula.)
8. Bluey: 12 Days of Christmas (Bingo, Bandit, Chilli, and Bluey. You know it’s gonna be awesome.)
9. Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann (Every Oklahoman should read this.)
10. (tie) Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones (The Boy and the Heron came out AND our Ghibli shelf post went viral. We’ve sold a TON of Ghibli-related books, but the source material for Howl’s reigns supreme.)
10. (tie) Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree (Winter is the perfect time of year to read this story of love, adventure, and starting a coffee shop. The prequel, Bookshops & Bonedust, came out in November and is also excellent.)
Thanks for shopping at The Floating Bookshop, downtown OKC’s bookstore, located on historic Film Row!
