If you are a lover of books like I am, you probably have amassed a huge collection. Working in a bookstore for over 20 years definitely has not helped the situation. I have shelves upon shelves, stacks upon stacks, and boxes upon boxes of books that I have purchased and NEVER read. I always assume that I am going to get around to reading them at some point, but it never happens, although I am still interested in reading most of them.
One of my reading challenges for 2020 is to read 12 books that I already own (yes, the actual paper copies) that I have never read before. Then if that book does not rate 4 or 5 stars on my scale, I will get rid of it (there are a few exceptions of course, but I won’t get into that). While I want to love all of the books that I purchase, let’s be real. I probably won’t. So, I will either donate them, give them away, or recycle them (if they are truly awful). The books that made this list are SAFE and a permanent part of the collection.
