Artist & Author BIO Introduction

Having return to Indiana in 2021 for the first time in almost 30 years and authored the New Book ‘FLORIDA RETIREMENT IS MURDER’ (Fictional Satire Cozy Snowbird Mystery) from my experiences in the state of Florida that have given light to a fictional story of generational characters encountered throughout 20 years of traveling across the United States as a professional Artist & Author.

My work includes original oil paintings that have been shown abroad, won multiple awards & recognition in artistic genre application of watercolor, acrylic and multimedia. After a successful early career in Engineering & Robotics, I found through the ashes of a divorce the inspiration and purpose to begin writing and painting. Since then, I have been honored to have Fine Art Studios' & Gallery locations across the US in Ohio, Indiana, New Mexico, Kentucky, Georgia and Florida.

As well, I have penned an Award Winning International Screenplay (Norma’s Sun) and other various publications that include a personal memoir as well a collection of self published children’s books. This new publication is a rebirth of creativity from a series of setbacks that left me in a deep depression and writers block as described below...

As a Gentleman born with multiple disabilities, my earliest memories are centered on artistic expression in hopes of escaping reality. Although the majority of my early creativity was painting, I wrote the first page to my personal Memoir – Norma Jean’s Sun at the age of 12. It was not until the passing of my Father who was the final elder of my family to die that I decided it was time to finish. That book was published in 2009 at the age of 45 and the award winning screenplay was adapted for production in 2019. However as a result of the 2020 collapse, that project and 20 years of my life work evaporated into memories and trophies. 

Currently living in Florida, my creative journey appears to be on task to create another layer of artistry and learning. The success of the recent publication has encountered a road detour as described on the Book Series Website - www.cozycomedymystery.com 

As mentioned, the original publication of Norma Jean’s Sun is a challenging read in both raw emotion and writing. Some have found the strength or expelling of my life’s history to be too hard to understand or believe. I had always known that my family was different at some level, unknown at the time to what depth that statement would hold truth. It was through pain and survival that I have found my life to be more about ‘Ability, a core element that guided my Children’s Book series “It’s OK Scooter™”.

Florida Retirement Is Murder became a fictional conclusion experience from my recent years in Florida. After being dislocated to Central Florida from the devastation of Hurricane Michael in 2018, I found myself surrounded by a vast sea of ‘Snowbird Retirement Community locations and the eclectic characters that populated the region. If you have ever been surrounded by a group of adolescent elders, you will understand the comedic thread that runs through this satire murder mystery. Needless to say, there is an ocean of content to draw from and I think we may need to learn more about what happens next…

I am humbled that the God given talents that I have been allowed to carry in my soul are also able to be a part of another person’s enjoyment or basis for thought. I have always said when it comes to my artistry; I create for your enjoyment, not to collect dust in my closet.
