Anti-Racism for Children
A recent article in the New York Times made a point about how "The conversation about race needs to start early and keep happening."
We agree. Reading stories aloud to children is the one most important things a parent, teacher or caregiver can do. To educate younger generations in anti-racism, kindness and peace --is to help create a better and more just world.
The picture books and stories featured here were selected by Colleen Kammer (co-owner of Book Beat). All contain useful ideas and are beautiful artworks in themselves. These can be used, enjoyed and discussed at home or in the classroom. After the books were selected a short five minute video was made featuring the books, and can be watched HERE
Books in our Bookshop catalog are also available at the Book Beat bookstore. If you're having a hard time with ordering or a book is out-of-stock, please call us at: 248-968-1190 - we are glad to help. You can also reach us at: [email protected] Thank you for your support! Shop Indie, Shop Local!
