Omar Rayyan has illustrated children's books for all ages, including the middle-grade series about two classroom pets, The Tails of Frederick and Ishbu; the Mistmantle Chronicles; and the picture book Rimonah of the Flashing Sword: A North African Tale, also adapted by Eric A. Kimmel. He lives on the island of Martha's Vineyard with his wife, Sheila, and their assortment of pets--a cat, a budgie, many fish, and a horse named Spot.
