Reviews

"The simple, gentle story is enhanced by DePaola's pastel shades and soft lines that create a most gentle, magical mood."--Booklist

"There are no shadows or lurking demons here, only gentle animals, friendly trolls, a huge, benevolent cat and The Fog Maiden, who takes the children home and tucks them into bed with a tender kiss."--School Library Journal

"A magic night in the lives of a little boy and girl. The Fog Maiden sends her cat, Token, to wake the children and escort them through an enchantment....DePaola's unassuming, childlike manner invites young listeners to drift along in a soothing, dulcet reverie."--Kirkus Reviews
