That rare and precious thing-a sequel as good as-or even better than-the outstanding first in the series. It's wise, knowing, propulsive, and perfectly pitched.-- "Lee Child, #1 New York Times bestselling author"
A great character, a vivid setting, a twisty, timely story that happens to be beautifully written. Kristen Lepionka and Roxane Weary are the best things to happen to the genre in years.-- "Laura Lippman, New York Times bestselling author"
This is one of those PI series where I immediately became attached to the main character and I am really enjoying watching her grow (along with solve mysteries)...I would 100% hire Weary, because at the end of the day I know she'd at the very least always be in my corner.-- "BookRiot"
The second book in the thrilling Roxane Weary series has something for everyone: murder, scam artists, secrets, and characters who are not all they say they are and who will do everything to keep their secrets and their pasts buried...Keeps fans of her novels on the edge of their seats.-- "RT Book Reviews (4 stars)"
With this successor to her highly praised debut...Lepionka is setting a high standard for crime fiction with the complex Roxane Weary at its heart.-- "Booklist (starred review)"
That Roxane has an alarming habit of diving headfirst into dangerous situations only makes her more fascinating. Fans will no doubt look forward to her next case.-- "Publishers Weekly"
What a book! This second installment in the new mystery series about bisexual PI Roxane Weary is even better than the first in the series, which I also thought was great. Roxane is definitely one of my favorite fictional imperfect characters now...Lepionka also does an amazing job of the complex characterization...The detective plot was complicated, layered, and a little hard for me to keep track of at times-keeping me on my toes! Murder and fraud!-- "BookRiot"
[Lepionka's] characterization of her heroine's interpersonal relationships remains spot-on.-- "Kirkus Reviews"
