About the Author

Sean Minster was born and raised outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He grew up within the Irish-American community participating in hurling, Irish dancing, baking soda bread and scones, and volunteering for the Milwaukee Irish Fest. Celtic folktales and story-telling styles strongly influenced young Sean, as did the hundreds of adventure books he read as a child. They were as much an escape from the bitter cold winters as they were a promise of adulthood adventures, but only if one chose to pursue such a life. He was fascinated by the story of humanity, aka history. And the way things worked or what you needed to do to make something work, aka science. Above all he was drawn to the practice of survival, which breeches not only the human condition, but the conditions of life and is-in the author's opinion-the purest path to education, experience, and existence. Sean went on to study Physics at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point which included a semester abroad in Hungary as well as a fair few seasons on the rugby field. He began adventuring in earnest during this time period, spending forty days on the Appalachian trail, climbing mountains at elevation, delving alone into the jungles of the Colombian Amazon, and most importantly taking any excuse to explore, if only the streets of a neighborhood ten blocks from home. Currently living in Sacramento, California, relocating there after college graduation, Sean has worked dozens of odd jobs including nano-magnetics research, brewing, Discovery Museum orator, pedi-cab driver, and custom vacuum chamber/component manufacturing. Sean always delights in learning a new skill and takes inspiration from all aspects of life. The author sees broad knowledge as the key to understanding and acceptance of others, for if you dig too deep and too shallow, it is unsettlingly easy to lose sight of the light. Spicing his life with variety, he always enjoys the extra kick! Though he may be found contemplating in cafes or bantering in bars, it's the questionable side streets and untamed wilds which truly draw out inspiration from this savvy traveler's heart. Sean is wild of heart, finding comfort in the storm while longing for dry socks and a warm cup of cocoa. He enjoys the company of all people, especially those who do not shy from the discomfort of truly living. Sean is an avid collector of new perspectives. The author has an insatiable hunger-mostly for food-but his appetite for knowledge and experience comes in close behind. Though he may be found in contemplating in cafes or bantering in bars, it's the questionable side streets and untamed wilds which truly draw out inspiration from this savvy traveler's heart. He enjoys the company of all people, especially those who do not shy from the discomfort of truly living. Sean is an avid collector of new perspectives which are showcased in his debut novel.
Rosie Minster was born and raised in Wisconsin with her favorite brother (see About The Author) and three older sisters. She always had a knack for being creative, drawing and painting throughout childhood, eventually attending the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point to study 2-Dimensional Design and Art History. Rosie draws inspiration from all facets of life. Her many artistic pursuits include playing guitar, singing, dancing, cooking and baking, writing poetry, and tatooing, whether they are temporary with henna or permanent. Inspired by nature and the patterns found within the natural world, Rosie uses the layering of textures and tones to create lively environments. Her studies in Ancient Chinese Art and the philosophy of Daoism contribute greatly to her creative process. Along with her education in the more traditional history of European Art, she also studied printmaking, glass blowing, ceramics, film photography, and more. Today, Rosie lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin working at Glorioso's Italian Market in the bakery, learning something new about Italian food every day. When she's not there making cannoli and tiramisu, she's at home with her love Jack and their cat and dog, Maisy and Monty.
