About the Author

Susan Kuklin is the award-winning author and photographer of more than thirty books for children and young adults that address culture and social issues, including No Choirboy: Murder, Violence, and Teenagers on Death Row; Beyond Magenta: Transgender Teens Speak Out, a Stonewall Honor Book; and We Are Here to Stay: Voices of Undocumented Young Adults. Her photographs have appeared in documentary films and in Time magazine, Newsweek, and the New York Times. Susan Kuklin lives in New York City.

Joseph Murphy (1898-1981) wrote, taught, counseled, and lectured to thousands over a fifty-year career. He was the minister-director of the Church of Divine Science in Los Angeles for twenty-eight years, where his lectures were heard by thousands every week. Murphy is the author of over thirty books, including The Power of Your Subconscious Mind, Think Yourself Rich, Believe in Yourself, and many others. A renowned authority on mysticism and mind dynamics, his work continues to influence followers worldwide.

Almarie Guerra is an actor known for her work on Sorry You're Sad, Dude Bro Party Massacre III, and Night of the Living Deb. She is part of an LA/NY based improv group, the Story Pirates.

Frankie Maria Corzo is a film and voice-over actress and audiobook narrator. She obtained a BA degree in theater studies from Montclair State University.

Lauren Ezzo is a midwestern-based actor and recent graduate of Hope College. A native of Haslett, Michigan, she was most recently seen in Peppermint Creek Theatre Co.'s world premiere of Or You Could Kiss Me. Lauren's hobbies include reading, running, and worrying about her orchid.

Elisabeth Rodgers is an actress and AudioFile Earphones Award-winning narrator. After graduating from Princeton University, she completed a two-year program at William Esper Studio, where she studied with Maggie Flanigan. Her audiobook narration training came from Robin Miles, who has also directed her in several productions. She has recorded dozens of books for a multitude of publishers.

J. D. Jackson is a theater professor, aspiring stage director, and award-winning audiobook narrator. He is a classically trained actor, and his television and film credits include roles on House, ER, Law & Order, Hack, Sherrybaby, Diary of a City Priest, and Lucky Number Slevin. He is the recipient of more than a dozen Earphones Awards for narration and an Odyssey Honor for G. Neri's Ghetto Cowboy, and he was also named one of AudioFile magazine's Best Voices of the Year for 2012 and 2013. An adjunct professor at Los Angeles Southwest College, he has an MFA in theater from Temple University.

Laura Jennings is a professional narrator and voiceover artist with an MFA in creative writing. Her intrinsic appreciation of the techniques that comprise storytelling allow her to analyze the underlying moods and currents of a book and bring them into her interpretation of it. An avid reader, she enjoys a quiet lifestyle in the Pacific Northwest with her loving husband and aged beagle, Dottie.
